worldbent: (Moving in an another direction)

[Matoba seems to have a moment of deliberation, when asked about the Night Parade. If it was just his clanmate then it probably wouldn't be a problem, but...] ...Yes. There was a city-wide festival that day, and during the fireworks, someone took advantage of the presence of the clan leaders to stage an attack. It seems that only the Daitengu was being targeted, and it appeared as though they had been killed.

...But, as you saw at the funeral, it seems that was not the case. Whether it was a body double that had been killed in their stead, or ...some other option, I could not tell you for certain.

[His eye settles on Minakami, polite, apologetic, but slightly warning.] I'm afraid that is all I'm able to divulge in ...present company. You understand. [And for that matter- until Tama proved he was someone that could be trusted with sensitive clan information.]

[It is an interesting perspective, the answer Minakami gives, and Tama with his burden moreso, and although his smile doesn't flicker it's clear from Matoba's expression that he doesn't entirely agree. But everyone in the business had their own views and their own ways of doing things, too- even if they were a little.. misguided.]

They do, don't they? [He can agree with that part of Minakami's opinion, at least.] A city made in the image of human cities, with human organizational structures and culture... Haha, I thought it was quite amusing, when I arrived here. But as for your point, [He glances back to Tama] the ayakashi who refuse to work alongside the rest... don't you suppose it is those outcasts who find themselves in the human world, causing the reputation of unwieldiness and poor behavior that ayakashi have there? It is a very charitable interpretation, I think, but it does make some sense.

...I have heard that there are some ayakashi that live on the outskirts of this very city that are quite dangerous... You should not go investigating there, for that reason.

[He had a point to all of this, though, which was:] You asked if the ayakashi who rule this place were really capable of what they claim: I suppose my counterpoint is: what we humans see escape into our own realm in the post-feaudal eras is only the tip of the iceberg for what ayakashi are capable of. Here, in Hell, in the pit of their realm, is likely where the true vipers lay.

Consider it from that perspective.
