[ Majima is out on the street with a night queen, also with a hand of exasperation dragging down his face, ]High Definition

[ He shoots a contemptuous sideways look at the sniffling pig yokai at her feet. Who pipes up helpfully, ]
Hey, he's pretty good at this, maybe I should ask for him.
[ Majima bristles like a cat. Bursting out noisily, ]
Shut it, you!
[ Hrr. He turns is attention back to the girl once again trying to explain how to just be fucking scornful. She keeps closing her eyes and meekly repeating after him, shaking her nine tail whip punily.
Majima has both hands on his face, head tilted back, before long. ]
[ Oh... Majima knows better than this one. His lip curls incredulously when he's asked to participate ]Look at this sweet jacket

[ He points at whoever is nearby too, ]
Y'all shouldn't either.
[ But he's not hanging around to babysit anyone. What is he, your mother? He carries on his way, slouched with his hands in his pocket. But of course nobody listens to him, it can't be so bad, right?
He pauses later in the night, a cigarette drooping from his lip as he watches some truly bizarre behavior. ]
All right there?
[ His tone conveys that he really doesn't want to be bothered with this, but here he is and he's a little too soft to just walk away. ]
[ Majima listens to this story about the jacket. Tilt to the side the take a look at the back of it. It doesn't seem that damn cool, or that damn inflammatory, but he has definitely seen guys throw down over someone's jacket in Sotenbori before... ]Welcome to the Night Parade
Yeah, all right, I'll help ya cross the bridge...
[ A sigh. He rolls up his shirt sleeves in preparation for a fight. Maybe someone with a little more attention to detail will notice that all is not at it seems and come enlighten him to the plight of Hasihime. Otherwise Majima's taking this at face value and muscling his way through this. ]
[ Majima doesn't trust... anyone in this town, really. A place like this, you need to take just about everyone with a grain of salt. So he sneaks a little closer to what the Kappa are doing. He's not so sure he likes what he sees: Lots of extremely carefully covered cases are being quickly taken further into the city's underground, suspiciously more than one might need to simply be building some parade floats or decorations.
He comes back from the sewers chewing on a cigarette. He takes out his phone and gets on the network then, ]
We got anybody real stealthy wanna come take a look at somethin' with me? Make it worth your while.
[ He did get that advance from the Enma, he can turn it over for this. ]

[Man, this blows. And Gojyo showed it by visibly huffing out as he walked over the the bridge fence, leaning his arms onto it as he idly kept his eye on the bastard who was trying to cross in the distance.
So far everything seemed to be good at least. Maybe the job wasn't that big of a deal?]

[ Really, he doesn't actually enjoy getting roped into people's shit but he's also not great at just turning away when people ask him for help. ]

[That was usually the case for matters like this. Unless maybe the jacket symbolized something offensive? A gang symbol, perhaps?
Regardless, their current client seemed to be doing well enough. He most certainly was standing there chilling on a bridge.

[ Whatever, he motions for the guy to go ahead and start his walk across the bridge. They can follow him a little bit behind... Turns out to be for the best because there's a serious splash zone when the water spirits start their assault on him. ]

[ He was expecting goons! ]

But before he could joke about it, his attention was alerted. Lifting his head to the water the moment it began to erupt outwards, he was quick in his attempts to back from the railing. His gaze shifting not on the targets in the water but to their client and then to Majima.]
Take the bridge! I've got the water!
[It was in seconds flat that Gojyo found himself pulling the belt of his hakama free. He was tugging off his robes only to stand in nothing but loose pants. Gojyo exposed his back to reveal the bright blue scales that littered his back; large gills slit down along his ribs. It was the part of him that his youkai had long since taken over.
Quickly jumping forwards, he began to climb the railing despite the attack.
Majima was a big guy, and Gojyo knew how capable he was. Even if their strengths had been restricted upon showing up in Jigoku-Cho, Majima would be more than enough force to be reckoned with as a guard.
Which meant it was his duty to act as offense and distraction.
So it was with little effort and a quick smirk back towards his new partner in crime that he dived forwards into the water, hoping to get a better look at what it was they were dealing with.]

[ One of the hashihime has pulled herself onto the bridge with her blue hands curled into fists. She comes swinging, so Majima steps in between her and jacket boy. But he doesn't feel that great about hitting women, even when their minor goddesses. So he doesn't, he mostly just spreads his arms between them.
But a few more have dragged themselves up now. ]
Ladies? There a problem here?
[ He puts on his nice customer service voice and hopes Gojyo is fairing better down there. ]

and surprisingly shirtlesswomen who seemed to be charging at once to get at the jacket-wearing youkai, poor guy. He now had found himself cowering behind Majima like an idiot.]Hey, hey now, no need to get violent. Surely we can sort this all out, yeah?
[He offered the most charming smile he could with that, doing his best to get his way between the rest of the girls and the bridge. Despite as much as they seemed to be otherwise protesting.]
"He knows he's not allowed here!"
"Yeah! Get away!"
[It seemed that despite Gojyo's attempt to hold them back, there was not much when it came to the sheer number of them.]
Oy! Mr. Client! What the hell did you do to piss them off this badly!?

[ Tone low and unimpressed, hissing towards the end: ]
I'm out here soaked 'bout t'get slapped by a bunch'a yokai and ya did nothin'?

[All right. Hold on, Majima. Gojyo, sensing the suddenly switched agitation to the client who hired them, immediately began to squirm past the remaining few girls who hadn't managed to climb onto the bridge—lifting himself back up, only to place his hand over Majima's. A serious look took hold.]
Easy there, champ. We aren't here to start anything unnecessary, especially when we don't know shit about what's going on here. Yeah?
[He looked up to the jacket guy. Surprisingly, his expression was tired, and he seemed to be taking no shit as he looked up at their hoisted client.]
I'd listen to him, yeah? 'S there seriously nothing you can think of that could have pissed these cute girls some?

[ Majima lets go but with a push. ]

[ He had enough of being nearly drowned with the Lake Spirit. He's not in the mood for another round because of this lying idiot. ]

[Their original patron screamed out indignantly as he squirmed in Majima's grasp.
On the other hand, Gojyo could feel his eyebrow beginning to twitch between their patrons screaming, Majima's indignity, and the jeering of the many shirtless women surrounding them and cheering on Majima's response.
This whole situation escalated to a stupid degree.
And so he reached out, placing his hand a little too firmly on Majima's forearm. Gojyo's gaze lowered along with his tone of voice as he tried to approach the scenario with as much of a level head as possible.
He preferred to play nice with girls when he could. But he had also been nearly killed by enough of them to know not to take the incentives behind a cute face for granted.]
Now now, Majiji. I think it's in the best interest of both of us that we at least hear both sides out.
[The women around him seemed to be boo-ing him with that answer. But he ignored them for the time being to keep his eyes fixated on Majima. His gaze seemed to clearly communicate something along the lines of 'you sure you want to go down this path, bro?']

Spirits get offended about whatever they feel like. [ And yes it is irrational nonsense half the time. ] But they got th'power an' we ain't.
So unless ya wanna fight all these gals, he better say he's sorry an' bow real fuckin' low whether he's sorry or not.
[ Majima lifts his wrist and taps his watch pointedly at the guy. Clock's ticking. If he's got something worthwhile to say, he better hurry the hell up. ]

Not that Majima seemed to be lying about the powers bit. It wasn't as if Gojyo hadn't noticed that being brought to another new world had once more brought down their skills to a certain standard.
He glanced back at the group of girls. I watched as the water boiled and bubbled up behind them.]

[He looked at the guy with the jacket. Shrugging his shoulder with an unsure gesture.]
"N-no way, man! I have every right! This bridge belongs to the city! It isn't right that I can't cross it cause some chicks are angry! If you aren't going to help, just put me down, and I'll pay someone else to help me!"
[Well fuck. It seemed like both sides were going to be stubborn about this.]
It seems we got brought into something messy, yeah?

That happened so fast. One moment Gojyo was trying to talk the both of them down, and the next-- Well.

[Which, in his opinion, was more than enough reason to be just a little pissed. He didn't care if this entire encounter meant having his ass handed to him by some hot shirtless youkai chicks! He needed to make up for having all his money stolen from him at that damn cat cafe!
He grabbed Majima by the collar, practically lifting him as he glowered up into the other man's eyes.]
You just enjoy doing whatever you damn well please, don't you?
[Meanwhile, all of the hashihime seems to be cheering Majima on. A few of them even seemed to hang onto him despite Gojyo's glaring.]

[ And also. He takes hold of Gojyo's hands and hisses at him, slit eye narrowing and fangs out. ]

[Where the conflict seemed to be enough to start bringing out the more feral urges of Majima's youkai, it only further insighted Gojyo's. Nails sharpening as he gripped harder into Majima's collar, a hint of blue filling into his otherwise crimson eyes as his pupils dilated. ]
You think I'm going to let you go and fuck me over two times in a row now?!
[First the incident with the lake spirit in Hakagemachi and now this. ]
Well, I hate to break it to ya bub, but I don't take kindly to people who think they can get away with anything. Especially not with me.
[Hence he pulls harder at Majima's collar, practically lifting the guy up by his clothes. ]

After all, it meant that in all technicality it was Majima who made the first blow.
That meant that he didn't have any reason to hold back for shit. Spitting aside the small trickle of blood that gathered at the corner of his lip, he started to grin. His grip stubbornly tightening on Majima's collar as he started to drag his stubborn partner-in-crime over to the side of bridge.]

Majima may think he still had a fighting chance. But even a snake that could swim would eventually need to come out for air.
But for now, a fight was still a fight. And while Gojyo remained clinging to Majima's collar, he did his best to pull the other man down, lifting his foot and driving it towards his stomach.
This fight was no longer about the mission. No, now it was about pride.]
